What makes a dinner memorable? The company for sure and even more if everything is prepared with pretty themed decorations, good food and a special drink! My tips and tricks I will share with you in today’s article.

Pick a theme. I’ve decided to go for a Sicilian dinner. So it could not miss a simple, fresh but at the same time tasty Mediterranean menu, full of flavours: oranges, eggplants, pistachios and olives were my key ingredients.

Choose the right drink that should accompany and complement the flavours. In my case Amaro Averna is a perfect match!  When I hold in my hand a glass of Amaro Averna, so many memories come back in my mind: genuine food, the sun, the sea of Sicily, its strong flavours and colours. Few ice cubes, an orange peel and the mix is perfect. The result is a bitter, fresh and velvety taste with citrus notes and Mediterranean flavours. Perfect as a digestive! There are other ways to fully taste Amaro Averna, for example I have suggested you here another great combination.

Use some good basic pieces. A delicate tablecloth or a runner are an excellent starting point because they enrich any table and allow you to play a lot with decorations. A posh cutlery set helps you to set any table.

Enrich with something personal that remembers you a special moment. It could be a decoration or an ingredient. In our case I chose pistachios as garnish for a typical Sicilian dessert, the Biancomangiare. The pistachios remember us an unforgettable summery vacation. They could not miss in our (almost) early summer dinner!
