Holidays in Zakynthos

Holidays in Zakynthos. All shades of blue, the Mediterranean green trees, the strong yellow brooms, fiery sunsets, authentic feelings and hospitality: this is Zakynthos.

I am writing this post while here in Vienna it seems it is snowing. While I am watching over my cold window, my thoughts are gone exactly to my holidays in Zakynthos. My gosh, how nice it would be to be there right now…
Even if it was not my first time, also this summer I enjoyed my stay and filled my mind up with good vibes after the last busy months. Oh, I have so many unforgettable moments!

Just two hours flight from Vienna with “myAustrian Holidays” by Austrian Airlines, Zakynthos is one of the ionian islands of Greece, without the huge mass tourism, especially in May and June, when I love to stay there. Famous above all for the unique Shipwrek beach, it has many other small and quite beaches and beautiful landscapes.

What I like mostly is to rent a small boat at Agios Nikolaos port and spend my journey in the northest area, with the wildest and most beautiful beaches. Then to enjoy the breathtaking sunsets watching on Kefalonia island from the pool or my balcony at the cozy Lithies Hotel, where I feel at home.

If you also are dreaming on some holidays in Zakynthos, I hope you find here some good inspirations. I really recommend Zakynthos, if you love to be embraced by wild nature and peaceful moments. Aaaand if you go there, please don’t forget to eat a Moussaka at Pilarinos Taverna (in my opinion the best one) with its gorgeous view on the Makris Gialos beach, one of the highlights in the island!
